Kingston, Jamaica — What began as a missing persons case has now unraveled into a sinister plot involving financial fraud, torture, and murder. Police investigators in East Kingston are preparing to charge three women in connection with the brutal killing of Digicel employee and businessman Kevin Walker.
Walker was last seen on the night of February 1 after renting a vehicle from a small company in Allman Town. The next day, he was reported missing. Weeks later, in a gruesome discovery, authorities found a man’s body crammed inside a barrel on Industrial Terrace in Kingston. DNA testing has since confirmed it was Walker.
Investigators believe Walker endured a harrowing ordeal before his death. Reports suggest he was beaten and tortured by his captors, who allegedly forced him to hand over sensitive banking information. Soon after his disappearance, officers from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime (CTOC) unit flagged suspicious activity on his bank accounts. A staggering $700,000 was transferred to an NCB account belonging to a woman named Alicia Dixon, while his credit cards were used for purchases at Carlisa and Gibbo Trading.
As the police closed in on the perpetrators, one of the key suspects, Donovan McFarlane, met a violent end—fatally shot by law enforcement on February 11. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Tajay Thompson, also known as “Teco,” has been taken into custody. But the manhunt continues for two other fugitives—Lavar Whitter and a suspect known only as “Shano.”
With investigators closing the net on the remaining suspects, the full scale of the plot that led to Walker’s tragic death is slowly coming to light. Authorities are now working to ensure justice is served for a man whose life was cut short in a horrifying act of greed and violence.
