Tragedy struck at a resort in West End, Negril, Westmoreland, on Monday afternoon as a Canadian resident, identified as 79-year-old Keith Mobo of Spring Fall, Ontario, is suspected to have drowned while swimming in the sea.
According to reports from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), Mobo encountered difficulties while swimming and was subsequently swept underwater. Despite efforts to rescue him, including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), the attempts were unsuccessful.
Upon receiving the distress call, the police were summoned to the scene, where they retrieved Mobo from the waters and transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Investigations continue.
