C-Toc Clamps Down on Counterfeit Goods, in Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A team of Detectives attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Division (C-TOC) arrested a store operator in Kingston, on Thursday, July 4, following the seizure of over $5-million worth of counterfeit goods, which were seized at his store.

The name of the business operator is being withheld until he has been officially charged.

Reports are that on Thursday morning, an operation was carried out at the store located along Luke Lane in downtown, Kingston.

During the Operation, various clothing items and shoes said to be counterfeit were seized, and the operator was taken into custody.

He will be charged today with breaches of the Customer Protection Act, the Customs Act and breaches of the Trademark Act.
