Mobile Reserve Police Corporal Charged with Murder of Kingston Businessman, to be Relocated from JDF Facility, To Police Lockup

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: On Thursday, the Attorney-at-law representing Corporal Ramone Scott, the investigating officers, and the Director of Public Prosecution, came to an agreement that the convicted officer, should be removed from the JDF facility at Up Park Camp, and relocated to a police lockup.

During the court sitting on Thursday, the Director of Public Prosecution Paula Llewellyn, told the court that due to safety measures, the commissioner of police, Major General Antony Anderson, made the decision for the officer to be held at the JDF lockup.

When the case called up on Tuesday, July 2, Justice Carol Lawrence Beswick, gave investigators until Thursday, to provide the court with information why the policeman was being held in custody at the Jamaica Defence Force, Up Park Camp facility.

The issue was raised in court on Tuesday, after the judge was told that Corporal Ramone Scott, was not present.

Scott’s attorneys say they have been questioning the decision of the police, to hold their client at the JDFfacility. Also, defense attorney Valerie Neita Robertson, accused the authority of holding the policeman in isolation.

Corporal Scott and Corporal Kirk Frazer, have been charged with the April 28 murder of Sheldon “Junior Biggs” Daley, who was shot and killed at a party in Chedwin park, allegedly by the two officers, and another officer, who is now deceased.

Both officers are to return to court at a later date.
