PORTLAND, JAMAICA – A well-known businessman was shot and killed in a home invasion at his residence in Anchovy, East Portland, on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Albert “Bugsie” Lindsay, a restaurateur in his late 50s who operated the popular Anna Banana restaurant on Folly Road in Port Antonio.
According to preliminary reports, around 8:30 a.m., men on a motorcycle arrived at Lindsay’s home and opened fire, hitting him multiple times. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
This latest targeted attack has increased Portland’s murder toll to five since the start of the year. It follows another fatal shooting on Tuesday, when a fruit vendor was gunned down at his stall in Boundbrook, Port Antonio.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for Lindsay’s killing, and investigations are ongoing.
