Businessman Charged for Purchasing Stolen Copper Wires from FLOW, Remanded into Custody

Kingston, Jamaica: Businessman Charged – A Kingston business operator, who runs a Recycling Company in the Riverton area, was remanded into custody when he appeared before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday to face charges of receiving stolen property.

The accused, Phillips Rowe, was arrested and charged earlier this year after a large quantity of copper wires, allegedly stolen from FLOW Telecommunication Company, was found in a storeroom at his business premises following an intelligence-driven police operation.

In his defense, Rowe stated that he had purchased the wires from individuals over time. His attorney also pointed out to the judge that there were no brand markings on the wires indicating ownership by any specific company.

The judge requested more time to review the case and remanded Rowe into custody until July 5th.
