British Man Arrested with 31 Pounds of Ganja: A British national found himself in hot water, after authorities seized a significant quantity of ganja from his possession at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James, on Valentine’s Day.
According to reports, the incident unfolded around 3:50 pm when Narcotics operatives intercepted the man as he was attempting to board a flight bound for Manchester, England. Acting on suspicion, authorities conducted a thorough search of the man’s luggage, leading to the discovery of 31 pounds of ganja with an estimated street value of JM $12 million.
In light of the findings, the British man was promptly arrested under reasonable suspicion of breaching the Dangerous Drugs Act. However, his identity has been withheld by authorities pending further investigations into the matter.
The seizure highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and illicit activities at Jamaica’s international airports.
