Police are actively investigating the disappearance of Digicel employee, Kevin Walker, who was reported missing on February 2.
Authorities suspect that a decomposing body found in a barrel on Industrial Terrace last week could be that of Walker. However, the advanced state of decomposition has made it difficult to confirm the identity.
Walker was last seen on the evening of February 1 after renting a vehicle from a small car rental company in Allman Town. Police are exploring the possibility that he was beaten and tortured to obtain his personal banking information.
Sources within the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime (CTOC) unit and the Kingston East crime office flagged unusual transactions on Walker’s bank account. These include a transfer of $700,000 to a National Commercial Bank account registered under the name Alicia Dixon.
Additionally, Walker’s credit cards were allegedly used for purchases at Carlisa, an appliance store on Retirement Road in Kingston, and Gibbo Tradings, a grocery store on Windward Road. The delivery address for these transactions was in Allman Town, the same area where Walker was last seen. Police reportedly witnessed items being delivered to this location.
Alicia Dixon, identified as a person of interest, has been located and is currently being interviewed by detectives. On Saturday, the police named two individuals who may have information crucial to the case: Damion McFarlane, also known as ‘Diamond,’ and another individual known only as ‘Lavar.’
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the police at 119, Crime Stop at 311, the National Intelligence Bureau at 811, or the nearest police station.
