Beres Hammond, Maxi Priest, Romain Virgo for The 8th Annual ‘Singers In Action’ Concert Series

NY: International reggae crooner Beres Hammond has two big dates in the tri-state area in August. On Sunday, August 4th the singer performs in Brooklyn, New York at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk then a week later on Saturday, August 10, he performs at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, NJ. Presented by Jammins Entertainment, the concert series dubbed ‘Singers in Action,’ will also feature singer Maxi Priest and rising superstar Romain Virgo.

Armed with an impressive catalogue of singalong hits ‘Red Light,’ ‘Step Aside,’ ‘What One Dance Can Do,’ ‘Double Trouble,’ ‘Love Means Never To Say Sorry’ ‘Putting Up Resistance’ and ‘Rockaway,’ the ‘Boss’ will be looking to renewing his musical kinship with fans in Brooklyn, event promoter George Crooks stated.

“Music lovers are excited about this year’s presentation of ‘Singers in Action’ and the fact that we have paired Beres with Maxi Priest and Romain Virgo, who is regarded as the most exciting younger performer out of Jamaica right now, this is a must-attend event. Brooklyn is home to the largest concentration of Jamaican and Caribbean nationals in the Diaspora so we expect a larger turnout for this important 2019 calendar stop for Beres. No matter where he performs, Brooklyn is truly his home away from home” Crooks shared.

Iconic reggae singer Maxi Priest, who last year warmed hearts with his latest lovers’ rock hit “Rock Steady Love,” which blend elements of modern pop and R&B with classic reggae and lovers rock is primed and ready for a big outing in New York. The UK based, Grammy-nominated reggae superstar is one of only two British reggae performers to have scored a U.S. Billboard #1 hit “Close to You” in 1990. Other Top 10 singles to his credit include “Set the Night to Music,” the duet with Roberta Flack, “That Girl” featuring Shaggy and his 2013 hit single “Easy To Love.”

‘Love Sick’ reggae crooner Romain Virgo, who has scaled reggae/dancehall charts globally with ‘Soul Provider,’ ‘Stay with Me,’ ‘I Am Rich in Love,’ ‘Who Feels It Knows It,’ ‘I Know Better,’ ‘Mi Caan Sleep,’ ‘Another Day, Another Dollar’ and ‘Leave People Business,’ recorded with Chris Martin complements the Singers In Action line up. In 2011 he made history as the first Jamaican artist to perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards, in Nashville, Tennessee. A year later he was named ‘Artist of the Year’ by Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) at their awards function in Kingston.

Tickets for the concerts can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com, NJPAC.org or by visiting the venue box offices and local Ticket Outlets.  For further information contact 718.282.8041.
