Retired Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell and his wife, Alyshia, are expecting their third child together, adding another bundle of joy to their growing family.
The couple shared the exciting news on Thursday through their YouTube channel, The Powells, where Alyshia revealed her positive pregnancy tests to their eager audience. She announced that she is currently seven weeks pregnant.
Reacting to the news, Asafa expressed both excitement and anticipation for the changes ahead. “The Lord will provide, OMG [Oh My God], them two boys not even know what’s coming,” he said with a laugh. “I have to prepare myself for sleepless nights.”
This will be Alyshia’s third child and Asafa’s fifth, as the former 100m record holder has children from previous relationships.
The couple, who frequently share glimpses of their family life online, received an outpouring of congratulations from fans and well-wishers following their announcement.
