St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Angry Mob Kills Gunman: An alleged gunman who shot and injured a Cook Shop operator in St James on Friday evening and who the police said is from the parish of Trelawny, was later set upon by an angry mob and shot and chopped to death.
The injured 49-yr-old Cook Shop operator is presently at the Cornwall Regional Hospital nursing gunshot wounds while the alleged gunman has been identified as 32-yr-old Jamari Scott of Falmouth in Trelawny.
Reports by the Freeport police are that shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, the cookshop operator was at his business place in Gutters District when he was ambushed and shot several times by Scott. Residents in the community rushed to the assistance of the wounded Cook Shop Operator and transported him to hospital. Angry residents then went in search of Scott who was cornered about an hour later along a section of the Retirement main road.
Angry Mob Kills Gunman: The residents reportedly disarmed the alleged gunman and used his own weapon to shot him multiple times to his upper body. He was then chopped and beaten to death. The police were later summoned and on arrival, Scott was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The lawmen say they have still not recovered the weapon used in both shootings.
