American Midwife visiting Jamaica after over 50-years dies in crash

St. James, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – An American Midwife visiting Jamaica has died from injuries of the bloody Spring Garden Head-on Accident in which 6 people were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in critical condition, following the two vehicular collision which occurred along the Spring Gardens main road in St James on Wednesday morning, May 10.

McKoys News has been told that the deceased is Grace Homes, 65-year-old midwife of Atlanta Georgia in the USA.

Close friends and associates of the popular American Midwife visiting Jamaica who lost her life in a bloody motor vehicle accident along a section of the North Coast Highway in St James on Wednesday May 10th 2017 are now sending condolences to her family.

Homes left Jamaica over fifty (50) years go and was on her first visit back to the Island when she and her friends also on the trip with her headed out to visit the Negril in Westmoreland when the motor car in which they were travelling was crashed into head on, by another motor car.

Reports by the Anchovy police are that about 10:00 am on Wednesday, Ms. Homes who was suppose to be leaving the Island on Thursday May 11th to return home in Georgia, USA, was travelling to Negril in a Honda motor car with and two other females.

On reaching a section of the Spring Gardens main road in the vicinity of the popular Chalet Carib Hotel, the driver of a white Toyota Corolla motor car, which was travelling in the opposite direction overtook another vehicle and crashed head on into the Honda motor car in which Ms. Homes was travelling.

All three males who were travelling in the Toyota Corolla and the three occupants of the Honda motor car  sustained head and body injuries and had to be rushed to hospital by ambulance, two police utility vehicles and passing motorists.

Ms. Homes who was also an American citizen succumb to injuries some time later on Wednesday afternoon.

The other five injured victims are still at hospital in critical conditions.
