Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A reputed gangster linked to four murders and affiliated with two notorious criminal networks was shot and killed in a reported confrontation with the police in Westmoreland on Thursday morning.
27-year-old Joseph Fyffe, otherwise called “Nansi”, was fatally shot during a targeted operation conducted by law enforcement in the Morgan’s Bridge area. Police say Fyffe was a top-tier member of the Hellsyde and Ants Posse gangs, both of which are deeply embedded in contract killings, shootings, and other violent crimes in western Jamaica.
Reports are that around 4:00 a.m., a team of officers launched a search operation at a two-apartment concrete dwelling in Grange Hill. During the execution of a search warrant, Fyffe was reportedly observed holding a firearm.
According to the police, Fyffe allegedly pointed the weapon in the direction of the officers. Fearing for their lives, law enforcement personnel opened fire, hitting the accused. He was later transported to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A firearm was reportedly seized at the scene, still in Fyffe’s possession at the time of the seizure.
Police sources confirmed that Fyffe was:
- Before the court for the September 11, 2021 murder of Shaquille Smith
- A suspect in the May 21, 2025 killing of Mickail Reid, who was shot at a bar and gaming lounge in Solas district, Frome
- A person of interest in the July 30 murder of Dwayne Parchment, also in Solas
- Wanted in connection with the July 29 murder of 38-year-old Theresa Nokisha Bailey in York Hill, Green Island, Hanover
Fyffe, described by investigators as a triggerman for both gangs, had long been on the radar of the security forces.
The Westmoreland police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and a report will be sent to INDECOM as per protocol.
McKoy’s News will provide more details as they become available.
