St. Andrew: A 44-year-old man was fatally shot in Airy Castle, St. Andrew, on Saturday night while a community curfew was in effect. The victim, identified as Nkumah “Troy” Hylton, was sitting in his vehicle when gunmen approached and opened fire.
Hylton’s mother, Ivetta, expressed her shock and grief, describing her son as a peaceful and well-respected member of the community.
“He was a quiet person, full of manners. Everyone talks about Troy. He was an auto mechanic but mostly drove his taxi and did charter work. He never troubled people, and the entire community will tell you that,” she said.
The shooting has left the community shaken, with residents expressing disbelief at the recent surge in violence in the once-tranquil neighborhood.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
