Kingston, Jamaica — The St Andrew South police recovered an AAC Honey Badger assault rifle along with a magazine containing nineteen 5.56 rounds of ammunition during an operation on Crescent Road on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, the operation occurred around 12:50 p.m. when law enforcement officers searched a premises in the area. During the search, the firearm was discovered buried at the rear of the property.
No arrests have been made in connection with the seizure, and investigations are ongoing.
The recovery of this high-powered weapon marks another step in the police’s ongoing efforts to tackle illegal firearms and reduce gun violence in the St Andrew South division. Authorities are urging members of the public to report any suspicious activities or information that could assist with the investigation.
