A 65-year-old St. Catherine man charged with raping a teenager was granted bail in the sum of $300,000 when he appeared in the St. Catherine Parish Court on Wednesday.
Lennox Jones of Guy’s Hill, St. Catherine, was granted bail by Senior Parish Court Judge Yvette Wentworth-Miller.
Attorney Denise Hinson represented Jones in court.
As a condition of his bail, Jones is required to report to the Gayle Police Station in St. Mary each Saturday and is scheduled to reappear in court on March 13, 2025.
The alleged incident occurred in May 2024 when the 19-year-old complainant was on her way to school in St. Catherine.
The matter was reported to the authorities in January 2025, leading to an investigation that resulted in Jones’ arrest and subsequent charge.
