The Westmoreland police have arrested and charged a 60-year-old construction worker with rape and sexual touching, allegedly committed against his step-daughter in two separate incidents, between September and December 2021.
The police have identified the accused as Gerald Whyte, a construction worker from Retreat district in Little London, Westmoreland.
Reports by the police are that, during September to December, her mother sent the teenage girl to collect money from Whyte, who shared an intimate relationship with the mother.
During her visit to his home, Whyte allegedly assaulted the teen and had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
The police received a report, and after a series of investigations, they arrested Whyte on Wednesday and subsequently charged him.
