6 Persons Arrested Following Illegal Firearm Seizure in Westmoreland

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Whithorn Police in the parish of Westmoreland have now taken six persons into custody, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm in the area on Sunday morning, June 3, 2018.

The investigators have pointed out that, so far one of the persons taken into custody have not yet been charged, so they are unable to release any names at this time.

Reports are that the police acted upon intelligence and carried out an operation at a house in the Whithorn area about 4:00 a.m. on Sunday.

During the search, a Smith and Wesson 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with several live rounds was discovered concealed in the house.

All six occupants of the house were taken into custody and are now being questioned.
