21-Year-Old Man Accused of Attempting to Buy Baby for Organ Harvesting

A 21-year-old man, Jose Israel Teran, is in custody following his arrest on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and the purchase/sale of human organs. The shocking allegations stem from an incident in which Teran reportedly attempted to purchase a 9-month-old baby for at least $500,000 to harvest the child’s organs.

Disturbing Messages Sent via Group Chat

According to an arrest affidavit cited by KSAT-TV, the situation began on December 30 when Teran was accidentally added to a family group chat discussing the baptism of a 9-month-old child. The mix-up reportedly occurred because a family member’s uncle had recently changed his phone number, which was subsequently assigned to Teran.

Teran allegedly responded to the group chat with a chilling message: “That’s a nice Caucasian baby. How much you want?” Despite being informed that he had the wrong number, Teran reportedly persisted, stating, “Are you not interested in selling? I’m willing to start the bid at 500k.”

The child’s father, alarmed by the messages, called Teran directly. During the call, Teran allegedly reiterated his desire to purchase the baby, offering payment in cash or Bitcoin. KENS-TV reports that Teran explicitly stated he buys babies to sell their organs.

Teran further escalated the situation by referencing details from the group chat, including the address of the baptism and the family’s home. This caused additional distress for the family, although Teran later told police he believed the group chat was spam.

This is not Teran’s first encounter with the law in recent weeks. On January 6, just days after the group chat incident, Teran reportedly shot a truck driver in the leg during a road rage altercation.

Teran was booked into Bexar County Jail last week, where he faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and the purchase/sale of human organs. Authorities are investigating the extent of his claims regarding buying and selling children for organ harvesting.

This chilling case highlights the importance of vigilance when dealing with unknown individuals, even in seemingly innocent settings such as group chats. Police have not disclosed further details about Teran’s background or whether there are additional victims.
