St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – 206 St James Murders Recorded: Since the start of the year 2017, a total of 206 persons have been murdered in the parish of St James. With four months still remaining in the year the murder count is now 37 more murders than that which were recorded at the same time in 2016.
During the second week of September 2016, the parish of St James had recorded 169 murders.
Since the past two weeks the Area One police have taken most of their man power and place them in the Zone of Special Operation in Mount Salem, but during that same period the parish of St James have recorded 9 murders in communities around the Zone.
This has left most residents of St James and the business community still asking the question, “Is the Mount Salem community the right choice for the operation?”
Why Mount Salem? Statistics carried out by Mckoys News Team has revealed that since the start of the year, most of the murders carried out in St James has been committed in the Montego Hills policing areas and this is followed by the Barnett Street policing areas which are located in the inner city of Montego Bay.
