Kingston, Jamaica – A Charity Sporting Clays Tournament held recently at the Jamaica Skeet Club’s base in Portmore, St Catherine, successfully raised $1 million toward life-changing eye surgery for 18-year-old Tashana Easy.
The initiative was spearheaded by Sean Clacken, who collaborated with members of the Jamaica Skeet Club, corporate sponsors, and individual donors to rally behind the cause. Easy, a Hospitality student at the HEART/NSTA Trust, has been experiencing rapidly deteriorating vision and requires a corneal transplant valued at $2.8 million.
The event attracted strong support from the sporting community, with many of the island’s top shooters participating. All proceeds from the tournament will go toward covering the full cost of Easy’s surgery and necessary follow-up care.

Clacken expressed gratitude to all sponsors and participants, noting that the full amount required for the procedure has now been raised. He also confirmed that the surgery will be conducted in the near future.
“This was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together,” said Clacken. “We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, the participants, and all who contributed to make this event a success.”

Main sponsors included Geddes Refrigeration, Hawkeye Security, Dr Glass Limited, Imperial Optical, and the Jamaica Skeet Club. Additional support came from Loshusan Group, Amzoil, Proforma Marketing, Matt’s Cycle Rack, and Sagicor Bank.
