Downs, Manchester – Tragedy struck late Friday night after a 17-month-old baby boy drowned in a swimming pool in the usually quiet community of Downs, leaving residents in disbelief and heartbreak.
The deceased has been identified as Levonte Lewis, of Hollywood in Norwood, St James.
Reports reaching McKoy’s News are that the tragic incident happened around 11:00 p.m. It remains unclear how the infant ended up in the water, but by the time his little body was discovered, it was already too late.
He was retrieved from the pool and later transported to the morgue. The matter was reported to the Alligator Pond police, who have since launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning
