Clarendon, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – 13-year-old Student Among Three Killed in Gun Attack: A teenaged girl is among three persons who were brutally killed when gunmen attacked patrons at a bar in the community of Race Course in Clarendon on Thursday (August 24, 2017) night.
She has been identified as 13-year-old Shaniel Bartley, a student of Central High School in the parish.
The other victims were reportedly identified as 24-year-old Amoy Ricketts, otherwise known as ‘Dolly’, a bartender of New Longville and Randal Ranger of Water Well Housing Scheme.
According to reports reaching our newsroom, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the three victims were among persons at a bar in Race Course. Two men alighted from a motor vehicle, entered the establishment and started shooting, hitting everyone in their line of fire.
They were all taken to the hospital where the teen and two adults were pronounced dead and the others hospitalised.
The female operator of the establishment were among those who were shot and injured. Bartley is reportedly the daughter of the owner.
The police are now speculating that Ricketts might have been the intended target as the gunmen called her by name, before alighting from the vehicle.
