A police constable who is stationed in Manchester, was reportedly the victim of a freak accident in Clarendon on Saturday, which resulted in the forced amputation of one of his legs.
The constable, who has been identified as 27-year-old Kemar Brown of the Asia police in Manchester, was reportedly using a power saw at home in the Milk River area of Clarendon at about 5:00 p.m. on Saturday , when he lost control of the tool, resulting in severe injuries to one of his legs.
Later, doctors at the May Pen Hospital were reportedly left with no option but to amputate the injured leg to save the lawman’s life because of the extent of the bleeding.
Members of the constabulary are responding to the unfortunate development, which has drawn high emotions all-round.
