Manchester, Jamaica — A woman has died and a man remains in critical condition following a motor vehicle crash along Spur Tree Hill on Tuesday morning.
Reports indicate that both individuals were travelling in a truck carrying cement when the vehicle encountered difficulties while descending the hill. The driver reportedly lost control, resulting in the truck veering off the roadway and plunging into a precipice.
Emergency responders attended to the scene, where the female occupant was pronounced dead. The male occupant was transported to hospital, where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The incident has caused disruptions along the busy thoroughfare, with sections of the roadway reduced to single-lane traffic as authorities manage the scene and ongoing recovery efforts.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing.
