Westmoreland Woman Arrested: A 23-year-old woman has been charged by the police following an incident where she allegedly stole her boyfriend’s cellphone, valued at $120,000.
The accused, Gabriel Coote, of Water Works district in the parish, has been charged with Larceny from a Person and Assault at Common Law, in relation to the incident which took place in Whitehouse, Westmoreland, on Monday.
Reports indicate that around 3:00 pm, Coote and the man got involved in a heated argument, during which she reportedly stabbed at him with a pair of scissors.
It is further alleged that the accused then took away her boyfriend’s cellphone, valued at approximately $120,000, prompting him to immediately report the incident to the Whitehouse police.
Following an investigation, Coote was arrested and subsequently charged.
