Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Westmoreland Motorcycle Gunmen: a 28-year-old man who hails from Bay Road in Little London, along with a 22-year-old man of 12 Coke Street in Savanna-la-mar, are now nursing gunshot wounds at the Savanna-la-mar hospital. Both were shot and injured by two men travelling on a motorcycle in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators attached to the Savanna-la-mar CIB Department say both victims, who are considered to be in critical conditions, were standing outside a supermarket along Great Georges Street when they were shot.
Reports are that shortly after 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 22, both men were standing among other persons outside the D and Y supermarket along Great Georges Street, when to gunmen rode up on a motorcycle. It is further reported that the men on the motorcycle brandished handguns and opened fire on the group hitting both victims.
The gunmen then escaped on the motorcycle, meanwhile, the Savanna-la-mar police were alerted and upon arrival, both victims were rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where they were treated and admitted.
Westmoreland Motorcycle Gunmen: Over the past weeks, armed men travelling on motorcycles have carried out a number of shootings and murders in and around the Township of Savanna-la-mar, in the parish. The police say they are now asking members of the public to be on the lookout for any suspicious men travelling on motorcycles.
