The May Pen police in Clarendon report that a man who used a machete to nearly kill a woman on William Avenue on Tuesday has been arrested and charged.
The accused, identified as 28-year-old David Hinds, a welder also of William Avenue, has been charged with Wounding with Intent.
Reports indicate that around 10:00 a.m., Hinds and the woman got into an argument at his home, during which he allegedly used a machete to repeatedly chop her on the shoulder.
The woman was rushed to the hospital by residents, where she was treated and admitted in serious condition.
The police were informed of the incident, leading to Hinds’ arrest and subsequent charging.
