An urgent call for blood donations has been issued following a shooting incident involving a police sergeant in Portmore, St. Catherine, on Thursday night.
Reports indicate that around 9 p.m., the sergeant was called out of his home after hearing what sounded like gunshots. When the shooting stopped, it was discovered that he had been injured.
The sergeant was rushed to a hospital and underwent emergency surgery. Police have confirmed that he is in serious but stable condition.
The Police Federation has made a public plea for blood donations to assist with his recovery.
