Mandeville, Jamaica – Police have identified the man fatally shot during a mass shooting at the Mandeville market gate, which left two people dead and several others injured.
The deceased man, known by the alias ‘Fry-Yeye,’ was from a Hanbury address in Manchester parish and is believed to have been the intended target of the attack.
According to eyewitness reports, two armed men opened fire on Fry-Yeye upon spotting him near the market gate, causing pedestrians to flee in panic.
When the gunfire ended, several people were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Fry-Yeye died at the scene, while a second victim, Donnett Merchant from Warwick in South Manchester, succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to the hospital..
The police are continuing their investigation into the incident and are urging witnesses to come forward with any information that could help identify and apprehend the shooters.
