The Barnett Street police in Montego Bay, St James, have made a breakthrough in identifying a man who was shot and killed along Kings Street in Montego Bay on Wednesday.
He has been identified as 45-year-old Damian Freeman, also known as ’45’ or ‘Steve’, residing on William Street.
Reports indicate that shortly after 9:20 am, Freeman was walking along a section of Williams Street when a black Nissan Sylphy motor car drove up to him near Codey Wholesale and Supermarket.
One man exited the vehicle and opened fire, hitting Freeman multiple times before fleeing in the waiting car.
The police were called to the scene, where Freeman was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds.
The area was processed by authorities, and Freeman’s body was later removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
