Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Unusual Assault Rifle Seized: The Negril police in the parish of Westmoreland say they have seized an unusual assault rifle and several rounds of ammunition along with a number of Lead sheets believing to be used in the Lottery scamming at a section of the parish on Friday morning, February 16.

The firearm which the law enforcers consider to be “one of a kind” ever seen in western Jamaica is said to be a Black RZG assault Rifle,  serial numbers 1053021 along with five 308 cartridges.

According to the police,  about 10:30 a.m. on Friday, a team of officers were carrying out patrol duties at Phase 3 in White Hall, Negril, in the parish if Westmoreland when they observed two men sitting on a wall.

Unusual Assault Rifle Seized: upon seeing the police, both men jumped down from the wall and threw an object in bushes and ran. The law-men then carried out a search of the area which resulted in the discovery of the assault rifle which was wrapped in white plastic.

A further search led to the discovery of several Lead sheets believing to be used in lottery scamming along with the five rounds which were wrapped in a black cloth.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure but the Negril police are still carrying out investigations.
