Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: An American resident who shot his Jamaican wife to death in Southfield, St Elizabeth, on Friday morning, February 15, and then fled the scene was held at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, on Friday evening.
The police say the accused who is known so far only as Mr. Topping of an address in the United States was being sought for the shooting death of his 49-year-old wife, Moy-Lyn Williams Topping, a bus driver also of Southfield.
The accused man who the police say fled the scene immediately after shooting his wife to death at her home, was apprehended on Friday afternoon at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, while attempting to board a flight destined for the USA.
Reports by the police are that the  dispute between the couple is alleged to have started at the couple’s residence in South Field. St Elizabeth on Thursday morning.
About 6:45 a.m., on Friday, Mrs William-Topping walked from her house and was in the process of boarding her Toyota Hiace minibus which she used to transport children to school, when she was ambushed by Mr.Topping multiple times.
William-Topping was rushed to the Black River Hospital where she was pronounced dead while her husband who residents say,  recently arrived in the island from, was picked up while attempting to flee the island from the airport on Friday afternoon.
