St. Elizabeth, Jamaica – The St. Elizabeth police have charged two farmers with drug-related offences following the seizure of 15 pounds of ganja in the parish.
The accused are 45-year-old Cameron Hutchinson and 54-year-old Vinroy Powell, both residents of Comma Pen district, St. Elizabeth.
According to police reports, on February 2 at approximately 12:20 p.m., law enforcement officers signaled a grey BMW motor car to stop in the Woods district. Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, authorities reportedly discovered 15 pounds of vegetable matter resembling ganja concealed in the trunk.
Both men were subsequently arrested and charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, and trafficking ganja.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
