Two Policemen Released from Hospital

The two policemen shot yesterday in St Andrew have been treated and released from hospital.
The policemen were not identified.
One of the gunmen believed to have been involved in shooting the officers is still in hospital under police guard. The other gunman died after the car he was driving crashed, as they tried to get away from the police.
According to police reports, the lawmen were on patrol in the Constant Spring Road area, St Andrew, when they observed a white Honda Civic motorcar parked on the roadway. The police team then approached the vehicle and attempted to make enquires; when the men immediately fired on the policemen, hitting them both before attempting to flee the scene.
One of the men fled and the driver was taken to hospital where he died, while undergoing treatment. While the police officers were at the hospital a man turned up with gunshot wounds and was arrested, as the other gunman from the car.
