Two men who were listed as persons of interest in the fatal shooting of a member of the Jamaica Defence Force have turned themselves in to investigators.
Police confirmed that the pair reported to officers assigned to the Major Investigations Division on February 12. They are expected to be questioned in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Daniel Crawford.
Crawford was fatally shot on Stephen Lane in the Kingston 13 on Tuesday, February 10. Reports indicate that about 8:51 p.m., police were alerted to loud explosions in the area. A responding team conducted a search and found Crawford suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say investigations are continuing and additional interviews are to be conducted with the two men now in custody.
Police are also renewing their appeal for public assistance in locating three other individuals listed as persons of interest. They are a woman known as “Kim,” a man known only as “Shane” of Kidd Lane, Kingston 13, and another man identified as “Kevan,” otherwise called “Brisco,” also of Kidd Lane.
Investigators say efforts to locate those individuals remain active.
