ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Two motorists were taken to hospital on Thursday morning after a three-vehicle crash along the Mandela Highway in Central Village, St Catherine.
Details about the drivers’ conditions have not yet been released.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. when a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus was stopped at a designated bus stop. A Suzuki motor car reportedly collided with the rear of the bus and then crashed into another Suzuki motor car.
The collision caused a buildup of traffic in the eastbound lanes of the Mandela Highway, particularly near the Chinatown area in Central Village.
Motorists travelling through the area experienced significant delays following the crash.
Police are urging drivers to proceed with caution and, where possible, use alternative routes while investigations into the incident continue.
Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
