The St. Elizabeth Police have charged two men in connection with a recent house breaking and larceny incident at a bar in the Bull Savannah district. The suspects, Corey Simpson, 28, also known as ‘Crazy Teeth’ of Perth Road, Mandeville, Manchester, and Ryan Parker, 36, a construction worker from Mandeville, Manchester, were formally charged on Monday, September 2.
The incident occurred on Saturday, August 10, at approximately 6:00 p.m. The bar owner had securely locked the establishment before leaving, only to find upon return that the padlock at the back of the building had been severed. The burglars made off with five poker boxes valued at 2.5 million Jamaican dollars and assorted liquor worth 20,000 Jamaican dollars.
Following the break-in, an investigation was launched, which included reviewing video footage retrieved from the bar’s security system. The footage clearly identified the two men as being present at the scene of the crime. Based on this evidence and a statement from the complainant, Simpson and Parker were arrested and charged.
The court date for the accused is currently being finalized as legal proceedings move forward. The police are continuing their efforts to address similar crimes in the area and ensure justice for those affected by such incidents.
