Jamaica Crime News, St James: Two gunmen who shot and injured another man in Cambridge, St James on Friday night,  August 17, was also shot and injured by a team of police officers who were in the area.

The police have reported that, the injured man has since been admitted to hospital in serious condition,  while both injured gunmen were also admitted to hospital under police guard.

Reports by the Cambridge Police are that about 10:45 p.m. on Friday, the victim drove home at his house, which is located at a section of Cambridge known as New Road.

He was in the process of reversing into his yard when he was ambushed by the two armed men,  who opened fire hitting him multiple times to his upper body.

A team of officers were carrying out patrols in the area and overheard the gunshots.  They rushed to the location and saw the gunmen attempting to escape from the shooting scene.

The police challenged the men and a heated gun battle ensued. Both gunmen were shot and wounded.

The victim and both gunmen were rushed to hospital where he was treated and admitted,  and both gunmen also admitted under police guard.
