Two Foreign Nationals Robbed During Midnight Visit to Golden Acres, Red Hills

Police in St Andrew North are advising residents and visitors to exercise caution following a reported armed robbery involving two foreign nationals at a popular sightseeing location in Golden Acres, Red Hills.

According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred shortly after midnight, around 12:06 a.m. on Wednesday, while the visitors were at the area commonly referred to as the “lookout.” The pair were reportedly taking photographs and recording videos when a silver Toyota Axio drove up to the location.

Investigators say two men exited the vehicle, one of whom was allegedly armed with a firearm. The suspects reportedly confronted the visitors and demanded their belongings. Fearing for their safety, the victims handed over the items. The men then re-entered the vehicle and escaped.

Several valuables were taken during the robbery, including an orange iPhone 17 Pro valued at approximately J$180,000, a black Michael Kors handbag worth about US$800, a white gold watch valued at US$120, black headphones estimated at US$60, and an iPhone 12 Pro Max valued at J$120,000. Police reports also indicate that a United States driver’s licence, a Santander debit card, and two shuttle tickets were stolen.

The Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has taken charge of the probe and is examining this incident along with other recent reports from the area.
