Westmoreland, Jamaica — Two people tragically lost their lives in a motor vehicle accident on the Three Mile River main road early Monday morning.
The deceased have been identified as 21-year-old Omario Brown and Javel Brown.
According to reports from the Frome Police, the incident occurred around 1:40 am when Omario was driving a Toyota Axio with Javel as a passenger. Preliminary investigations suggest that Omario lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and crashed into an ackee tree.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, were summoned to the scene. The team had to cut both men from the mangled vehicle before transporting them to the hospital. Unfortunately, both were pronounced dead on arrival.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash. Local residents have since expressed shock and grief at the sudden loss, with many calling for greater caution on the island’s roads.
