Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Two Armed Supermarket Robbers Shot: The police in Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland have reported that two armed men who held up and robbed a supermarket in the same place on Sunday afternoon were shot and killed by a licensed firearm holder. According to the police, both robbers still remain unidentified up to Monday morning.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 1:00 p.m. on December 17, 2017, the two unidentified men entered the Earth and Ocean Supermarket located along Great Georges Street and held several shoppers and the business operators at gunpoint. A licensed firearm holder who was in the supermarket challenged the men in a shootout and both armed robbers ran from the supermarket while still firing at the shoppers.
The police were then summoned and on arrival, they carried out a search in the area and stumbled upon the bodies of both men along Crook and Dalling Streets. They were both taken to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where they were pronounced dead. The investigators pointed out that a 9mm semi-automatic pistol containing one live round, a black purse containing an undetermined sum of money and cell phones belonging to the shoppers were found with the men.
Investigators also stated that both robbers were believed to be the men behind more than a dozen other armed supermarket robberies that were carried out in Savanna-la-mar over the past two months.
