KINGSTON, Jamaica — Roshawn “Son Son” Samuels, a resident of Tivoli Gardens, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for his role in a 2020 robbery and shooting in Denham Town.
Samuels faced multiple charges, including three counts of shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm. Each count of shooting with intent carries a 15-year sentence, with an additional 10 years for the firearm offense; all sentences are to run concurrently.
The incident occurred on April 6, 2020, when police responded to reports of a robbery in Denham Town. Upon arrival, officers observed two men matching the description provided. As they approached, the suspects attempted to flee, with Samuels reportedly opening fire before evading capture.
After a subsequent investigation, Samuels was arrested in January 2021 and formally charged. In July 2024, he was found guilty, leading to his recent sentencing.
