Kingston, Jamaica— On Friday, Tia Clayton electrified the National Stadium on the second day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships by defeating two-time national champion Shericka Jackson in the women’s 100m semi-finals. Clayton set a personal best of 10.86 seconds (1.0m/s), surpassing her previous best of 11.02 seconds, which she achieved in the first round on Thursday.
Shericka Jackson, running a season-best of 10.87 seconds, comfortably secured her place in the finals. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce also advanced with a time of 10.91 seconds.
Other finalists include Kemba Nelson (11.04 seconds), Shashalee Forbes (11.09 seconds), Briana Williams (11.15 seconds), Natasha Morrison (11.16 seconds), and Alana Reid (11.16 seconds).
