Three people, including a 66-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man, were shot and injured on the premises of the Sandy Bay Health Center in Sandy Bay, Hanover, on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred when armed assailants invaded the compound and targeted a 23-year-old man.
According to reports, around 12:15 pm, the 23-year-old, identified by the police as the primary target, sought medical attention at the Health Center.
While at the compound, a group of men arrived in a car, and two individuals disembarked with handguns, opening fire and hitting the intended victim multiple times.
In addition to the target, two elderly patients who were present at the Health Center seeking medical care were also wounded in the attack.
Despite being pursued, one of the victims managed to escape and sought refuge at the Sandy Bay police station.
Law enforcement officers promptly responded to the scene and transported all three victims to the hospital for treatment and further medical care.
The attack at the Health Center is believed to be a retaliatory act stemming from an ongoing feud in the Montpellier community. This feud has resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries within the community since the beginning of the year.
