Three Persons Arrested for Seizure of Two Illegal Firearms and Over 100 Rounds of Ammunition

Latest Jamaica News, St Catherine: Detectives attached to the Spanish Town Police arrested and charged three persons, including a female, in connection with the seizure of two illegal firearms and over 100 rounds of ammunition, during an operation carried out in Spanish Town, on Sunday, September 15.

Facing charges of Illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and Unlawful possession of police ballistic vest are 34-year-old Cliff Bonsearthe, otherwise called “Shortpeace”, 39-year-old Fitzroy Kelly otherwise called “Zidane” and 27-year-old Jehnelle Dacosta, all of St Johns Road, in Spanish Town.

Reports by the police are that about 5:10 a.m., a joint military operation was carried out in St Johns area, where a premises occupied by the three accused was searched.

During the search, a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol, a homemade handgun, along with a police balistic vest, ninety-two 7.62 rounds, fifteen 9-mm rounds, and one 5.56 round, were seized.

All three were taken into custody and subsequently charged.
