Three Men Caught with Illegal Gun in Westmoreland

Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Three Men Caught with Illegal Gun: A 16-yr-old teenaged boy from the parish of Westmoreland is among two other men charged in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Westmoreland on Sunday (August 27, 2017) afternoon.

Reports by the Sav-la-mar police are that about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, a team of officers were on patrol in the Russia area of Sav-la-mar when they heard gunshots being fired.

The officers then walked towards the direction of the gunfire and came upon the 16-year-old teenager who hails from 59 Seaton Crescent, a 29-year-old labourer of the said address and a 31-year-old fisherman.

On seeing the lawmen, the men ran and the police gave chase. All three men were cornered and the teenager was seen hiding an object underneath a house. The object was retrieved and discovered to be a .38 Smith and Wesson Revolver loaded with 5 live rounds of ammunition.

The police are continuing their investigations.
