Three alleged members of the Ants Posse Gang were fatally shot during a confrontation with police in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, early Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. on Mint Road in the Crowder district during a targeted pre-dawn operation.
The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Jervis Smith, 20-year-old Jervan Hall, and 19-year-old David Brooks. As law enforcement officers approached the premises with a search warrant, they reportedly came under heavy gunfire from armed men. They were transported to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
During the operation, authorities seized a 9mm Taurus G2C pistol and a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol, the latter with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds. A fourth suspect, identified as Sandario Van Horne, also known as ‘Drug Lord,’ managed to escape during the exchange and is currently being sought by the police.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has been notified and is conducting a probe into the incident. Assistant Commissioner Hamish Campbell stated that the matter remains under active investigation.
