Back-to-back Olympic double sprint champion, Elaine Thompson-Herah, has been conferred with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of Technology (UTech).
The 29-year-old shared the news on her social media pages on Wednesday, three days after the university’s virtual presentation of graduates.
“I feel so overwhelmed with joy to be recognized for my work and the many blessings from the Lord,” Thompson-Herah posted on her social media pages. “I thank my UTech family for awarding me with the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws. Thank you my fans and sponsors for always helping me to keep the flame to my fire.”
Adding to the doctorate, Thompson-Herah was also named World Athletics female athlete of the year, NACAC female athlete of the year and she recently received a diplomatic Passport from Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
