Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A 17-year-old boy who was caught in possession of 21 assorted rounds of ammunition was taken into custody and charged with illegal possession of ammunition, during an operation in August Town, Kingston 7, on Sunday February 17.
The name of the accused is being withheld pending further investigation.
Reports by the Half-Way-Tree police are that about 4:30 p.m., on Sunday, a team of officers carried out an operation in sections of August Town.
During the operation, the officers went to a section of Bedward Gardens when they saw the teenager and four other males sitting on an old motor car.
On seeing the police the men ran, but the police gave chase and the teenager was accosted.
A search of a knapsack led to the discovery of nineteen 9-mm rounds, and three 5. 56 rounds.
